Pedestrian critical after being struck by car Tuesday night

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in south Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas police.
The accident occurred about 8:50 p.m. at South Jones Boulevard and Fairbanks Road, near Jones and Flamingo Road.
Gabriel Petrescue, 47, was northbound on Jones in a 2005 Lexus when he struck Jiahong Wang, 57, who was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk, according to police. Wang was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Petrescue received minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
