Pedestrian in critical condition after North Las Vegas collision

A man is in critical condition after a vehicle struck him Monday afternoon near the College of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne Campus, North Las Vegas police said.

The man was crossing Cheyenne Avenue near Mary Dee Avenue when a car hit him at about 5:20 p.m., said department spokesman Officer Aaron Patty. Whether he was in a crosswalk at the time is still under investigation.

Patty said westbound Cheyenne is closed and will be for another hour. The driver stayed on scene after the crash.
