Police investigate death of baby boy in northeast Las Vegas
Las Vegas police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old boy at a northeast valley apartment Thursday morning.
The baby was identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Devonta Lewis Jr. His cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Police were notified at 12:24 a.m. by the fire department, who was at the residence, 5150 E. Sahara Ave., near Nellis Boulevard, for a medical call, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said.
Devonta was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died at 12:34 a.m.
Metro's abuse and neglect detectives are investigating at the apartment and at the hospital, Meltzer said.
