May 2, 2014 - 4:03 pm
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they say robbed a jewelry store at gunpoint.
The robbery happened at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at a jewelry store located near North Rampart and West Charleston Boulevards.
Police say the lone suspect — described as a black male, 20-30 years old, with a thin build — entered the jewelry store carrying two black backpacks and was armed with a long barreled silver handgun.
They say the suspect obtained a “substantial amount” of fine jewelry from the clerks, which he placed in the backpacks.
He was last seen running in a south westerly direction wearing a plaid shirt, a blue checkered baseball cap with a red logo, gloves, and a long-haired black wig
