Smoke advisory covers Las Vegas

An advisory for smoke and ground-level ozone was issued Tuesday for the Las Vegas Valley, according to the Clark County Department of Air Quality.

Air quality officials said the cause of the advisory is partially due to the wildfires burning in Central and Southern California.

Local weather conditions are contributing factors as warm weather and strong sunlight increases the collection of ground-level ozone, according to officials.

The National Weather Service forecasted temperatures to climb to 102 degrees with wind gusts up to 29 mph.
