Southeast Las Vegas fire sends 1 person to hospital, leaves 5 animals dead

A fire Monday evening involving several mobile home units in the southeast valley sent one person to the hospital and left five animals dead, the Clark County Fire Department said in a statement.

Just after 6:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 3459 E. Viking Road, the release said. Upon arrival, firefighters saw multiple single-wide mobile home units involved in the fire.

The statement said the fire was confined to the mobile home units and at least one vehicle. Although the fire is contained, several fire units and crews remain on scene for rehabilitation and cleanup.

The person taken to the hospital had unknown injuries, the statement said. It is unknown how many other people, if any, will need help.

The fire’s cause is under investigation and damage estimates are pending.
