Teen wounded in late night shooting at house party

A 17-year-old girl was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting at a central valley house party Tuesday night, Las Vegas police said.

Police responded about 11:30 p.m. to the 6300 block of Bristol Way, near Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, Metro supervisor Lt. Carmen Donegan said Wednesday morning.

The girl was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, Donegan said. Police later said the girl was expected to survive.

During the party, a white four-door sedan, possibly a midsize Nissan or Toyota, drove past the residence. Someone from inside the vehicle fired numerous rounds, striking the victim, the residence where the party was taking place, and a nearby residence, police said Wednesday afternoon.

Metro’s Violent Crimes Section investigated the incident. No suspects were in custody, and police did not know what motivated the shooting. No one else was injured, police said.
