Toddler dies in crash that closes NB U.S. 95 HOV ramp to Summerlin Pkwy

A toddler died after a rollover crash that has closed the flyover ramp from northbound U.S. Highway 95 to Summerlin Parkway, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

About 3:45 p.m., a Toyota SUV was driving on the ramp when the driver lost control. The SUV rotated clockwise, hit a barrier and continued sliding west.

The toddler, a boy, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said. Two other passengers were taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition.

The boy was not properly restrained in his car seat, Hixson said.

Motorists should choose alternate routes if possible.
