Vehicle hits, injures bicyclist in west Las Vegas Valley
A bicyclist has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the west Las Vegas Valley Tuesday morning.
Las Vegas police arrived at the scene of the crash at Alta Drive and Antelope Way just after 9 a.m., Metro officer Michael Rodriguez said.
Upon arrival an officer got into an altercation with an individual who was taken into custody for having warrants. It is unclear whether this person was the driver of the vehicle that hit the bicyclist, Rodriguez said.
The bicyclist was taken to University Medical Center, police said.
Alta Drive is shut down in both directions between Serra Street and Antelope Way, according to police.
