Vehicles, building damaged in Sunday fire at car repair shop

A car repair shop caught fire Sunday evening near Dean Martin Drive and West Tropicana Avenue, according to the Clark County Fire Department.
Emergency dispatchers received calls about the fire just after 6 p.m. at Edwin’s Auto Center at 5115 Dean Martin Drive.
The building was on fire inside and out and spread to several vehicles parked next to it. Firefighters had to break into the lot through a fenced parking area. The fire was out in 20 minutes.
No one was injured from the fire. Damages for the building were estimated at $50,000 and about $35,000 for vehicle damages. Southwest Gas and NV Energy also responded to shut off gas and electrical utilities inside the building.
