Woman dies in Minnesota months after Vegas crash, police say

A Las Vegas woman involved in a single-vehicle crash in July died from her injuries months later in the Minneapolis area, Las Vegas police said Tuesday.

Murlen Baden, 85, was the passenger in a 2011 Cadillac that crashed when Thomas Baden, the driver, had what may have been a medical episode, Las Vegas police said in a news release.

The Cadillac went over a curb and collided with two pine trees July 24 near the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Greenspring Street, police said.

Both occupants were transported to University Medical Center Trauma, where their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police were notified by the medical examiner’s office in Hennepin County, Minnessota that Murlen Baden was pronounced dead at a health care facility there Nov. 11. The medical examiner determined she died from the crash and Metro was informed Monday, the release said.

This is the 92nd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
