A woman killed in a fiery Saturday afternoon crash in Henderson has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
Marion Schubert, a 90-year-old Boulder City resident, died at the scene on Boulder Highway near Water Street, Henderson police said.
Edmund N. Gerarden, 76, who police said was speeding, is facing charges of reckless driving that caused death and reckless driving with substantial bodily harm, police said.
Gerarden was driving his Ford pickup south at a high rate of speed on Boulder near Water Street about 3:30 p.m. when he side-swiped a truck and then rear-ended a Ford Crown Victoria, Henderson police said.
The Crown Victoria burst into flames. The driver, Schubert, died at the scene and her female passenger was critically injured. She was taken to University Medical Center.
The driver of the other pickup was not injured. Gerarden was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and was later arrested, police said. Alcohol and drugs don't appear to be involved in the crash.
