Woman killed in rollover crash identified

A 20-year-old woman who was killed in a rollover crash Thursday in the northwest valley was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner’s office as Sophia Marie Faraci, of Las Vegas.

Faraci was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer about 7:15 a.m. Thursday on Smoke Ranch Road, west of Decatur Boulevard, when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV slid off the roadway, hit a wall and overturned on the driver’s side, police said.

Faraci was thrown from the vehicle. She was taken to University Medical Center where she died.

Metro Sgt. Richard Strader at the scene Thursday said Faraci had been speeding.

The passenger of the vehicle was taken to UMC with moderate injuries.
