A 24-year-old woman was critically injured in a shooting near UNLV early Friday morning, according to Las Vegas police.
The shooting happened about 3:15 a.m. close to Maryland Parkway and Del Mar Street, near Harmon Avenue, during what police said was a possible attempted robbery.
There was a struggle and the woman was shot. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
The shooter remains at large. Police describe her as a black female in her late teens to early 20s, standing about 5-feet-6-inches tall with a medium build and wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
