Woman whose body was found after apartment complex fire IDd
A woman found dead Wednesday after a fire at a southeast valley apartment complex has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
She is Cheryl Marie Dean, a 24-year-old Las Vegan, coroner's office staff said Sunday. Her cause and manner of death are pending.
Fire crews were dispatched shortly before noon to the Canyon Pointe apartments, 5421 E. Harmon Ave., the Clark County Fire Department said. Dean's body was found under debris where the fire originated after crews put it out.
The Fire Department originally said the body found was that of an "elderly" woman.
Seventeen families were displaced, the Fire Department said, and the official cause of fire has not been announced.
