Arizonan held in death of girlfriend’s son

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Bullhead City, Ariz., man has been arrested in the death of his girlfriend’s infant son.

David Jonathan Ramos, 23, was booked into the Mohave County jail in Kingman on Monday on child abuse and second-degree murder charges in the death of 15-month old Drayson Tese.

Ramos and the child’s mother brought Tese to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury on Oct. 21, according to the Bullhead City Police Department. Tese was flown to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas where he died on Oct. 23.

An autopsy conducted by the Clark County coroner’s office determined that Tese was the victim of a homicide and died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

Ramos told investigators that “he was playing with the child and accidentally dropped him when he threw baby Tese up in the air,” according to police.

Police said the victim’s mother was not home when her son was injured and that she will not be charged in the case.
