Person on Ebola patient flight OK in Reno

RENO — Washoe County health officials have conducted their first Ebola screening of a person who was on a flight with a patient who had the virus but released the individual after determining there was no health risk.

Washoe County District Health Officer Kevin Dick said the unnamed individual was a passenger on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 from Cleveland to Dallas.

Dick said in a statement Wednesday night the person subsequently traveled to Reno and reported to a health care facility where the screening was conducted under directives issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Renown Health officials said the passenger reported Wednesday to its urgent care facility in Sparks after being contacted by the CDC as part of the agency’s outreach to all 132 passengers on flight 1143.
