North Las Vegas gets grant for pedestrian awareness program

The North Las Vegas City Council on Wednesday received a $108,000 state grant for a pedestrian awareness program geared toward school children.

The funds, provided by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, will allow the North Las Vegas Police Department to continue providing the “Stop, Look and Listen” safety education program to 15 elementary schools through the rest of the academic year.

Matching funds for the program are included in the Police Department’s budget, city officials said.
