Roommates in custody after argument in southwest Las Vegas

Police took two men into custody Sunday night after they reportedly threatened each other with weapons during a roommate dispute in the southwest valley.

Metropolitan Police Lt. David Gordon said the dispute was called in about 11:40 p.m. Sunday on the 6400 block of Jade Mountain Court, near Torrey Pines Drive and Shelbourne Avenue.

Gordon said the argument stemmed from a pending eviction. During the argument, one man threatened the other with a baseball bat, so the other man drew a gun.

The other roommates and some visitors then fled the home and called 911, Gordon said.

Police arrived at the scene, and persuaded both men to leave the house. They are in custody, Gordon said, and police are investigating to determine what charges, if any, will be filed.
