Below-normal temperatures expected this week in Las Vegas Valley

Temperatures are below normal this week and the valley has a slight chance of seeing some rain, the National Weather Service said.

Wednesday’s forecast high is 88 degrees, meteorologist John Adair said. There is a 20 percent chance of rain in the valley between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Winds will begin to kick up in the valley as the week progresses, with 15 to 20 mph winds expected Wednesday and 20 to 30 mph expected Thursday, the weather service said. On Thursday, gusts can reach up to 40 or even 50 mph in parts of the valley, Adair said.

Winds will decrease Friday, when a high of 81 degrees is expected, the weather service said. Saturday and Sunday have forecast highs of 85 degrees.
