Friday will try, but probably fail to hit 100

The weekend is expected to be warm and sunny, but seeing our first 100-degree day looks less likely, according to the National Weather Service.
“Tomorrow is our only shot of hitting 100 degrees for the next week, but it looks like it’s going to fall short,” meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.
Friday’s forecasted high is 98 degrees and then the valley will cool down slightly. Winds will pick up as a storm currently in Northern California moves across Northern Nevada over the weekend.
Saturday’s high should be 89 degrees and Sunday’s high, 86 degrees, according to the weather service. Those days are expected to see 15 to 25 mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph, Gorelow said.
Next week will stay around the high 80s and low 90s before temperatures start rising again.
