Updated April 8, 2017 - 7:23 pm

Winds are expected to die down Sunday, and the Las Vegas Valley is expected to see clear and sunny skies.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that took place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. As of 7 p.m., the weather service recorded gusts up to 50 mph in the southwest valley and gusts up to 41 mph near the airport, meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

The valley saw a high of 74 degrees Saturday. Sunday is expected to be slightly cooler with a high of 70 degrees. Sunday should see only light, breezy winds, Steele said.

Next week will start out warm and sunny, with a forecast high of 78 degrees Monday and highs in the low- to mid-80s lasting through Thursday, when strong winds are expected again.
