High winds and cold temps expected for the Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley should be noticeably cooler Sunday.

Sunday’s high temperature will drop to 56 degrees, 10 degrees lower than the valley’s recent average highs. There is a 30 percent chance Sunday of “measurable rain at any given spot in the valley,” meteorologist John Adair said.

Skies will be mostly sunny and clear through Friday, according to the Weather Service. Monday’s high will be 57 degrees; 56 degrees on Tuesday; 54 degrees on Wednesday; 55 degrees on Thursday and 56 degrees Friday.

The new week should bring the start of freezing low temperatures for the valley.

“It’s looking cool all week long,” Adair said. “Not a lot of moisture, just cold air.”

Forecast lows will drop into the 30s by Wednesday night, the Weather Service said, “especially on the outskirts of the city.” The mountains may get some snow flurries as a result.
