Las Vegas Valley to start the new year with cooler temps
Temperatures will cool down again after the start of the new year, the National Weather Service said.
Skies will begin to clear out the first day of 2017. New Year’s Day will reach a daytime high of 57 degrees before temperatures gradually cool.
During the valley’s midnight celebrations, the nighttime low of 46 degrees was about 20 degrees warmer than last New Year’s Eve when the temperature was “right around freezing or below at 27 degrees at midnight,” meteorologist John Adair said.
Temperatures will drop starting with a forecast 53-degree high on Monday and 51 degrees on Tuesday, the weather service said. The rest of week will hang around the mid-50s.
