Rain showers likely on Monday

Las Vegas Valley residents might want to keep a raincoat or umbrella handy Monday, as rain showers are likely, according to the National Weather Service.

“Rain on the way for much of the area. Could be a wet AM commute,” the National Weather Service tweeted Sunday night. Sunday saw some light showers in the early morning and a high of 69 degrees.

The valley has a 60 percent chance of rain and some light winds Monday, meteorologist Stan Czyzyk said.

The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures for Monday and Tuesday at 63 degrees, 66 degrees Wednesday and 63 degrees Thursday.

Mount Charleston is expected to get some snow.
