Still hot, but temps starting to drop in Las Vegas Valley
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly as the Las Vegas Valley edges closer to the weekend.
Wednesday’s high is forecast for 106 degrees, with a morning low of 81, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will continue to dip Thursday with a forecast high of 104 degrees and Friday with a forecast high of 103 degrees — the same high expected Saturday and Sunday.
Though there’s a chance of thunderstorms in northwest Arizona toward the end of the week, none of that rain is expected to pass through the valley, Weather Service meteorologist John Adair said.
“The main concern will be the smoke from the Blue Cut fire out in the Cajon Pass,” Adair said.
He said smoke from the California wildfire may linger in Wednesday’s morning air, but should pass through the valley quickly. Because of winds, most smoke will be headed toward Pahrump and up toward Tonopah, Adair said.
