ROUNDUP: Burdette’s seventh-inning single helps Mountain Lions nip Panthers

Tyler Burdette’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Sierra Vista’s baseball team a 3-2 home victory over Palo Verde in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Derron Davis got the win in relief of Burdette, the starter who yielded two runs in six innings.
Dustin Randall doubled twice for the Mountain Lions.
Coronado 6, Durango 1 — At Durango, Kenny Oakley and Chandler Blanchard combined on a two-hitter to lead the Cougars past the Trailblazers in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Oakley allowed one hit and struck out 11 in 5 2/3 innings.
Julian Burrola was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run for Coronado.
Centennial 4, Green Valley 2 — At Centennial, Mike Yenkowski had a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning to help the Bulldogs down the Gators in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Centennial scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 2-1 deficit.
Casey Moses was 3-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI for Centennial, and teammate Bryan Bonnell tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts.
Phillip McGovern was 3-for-3 for Green Valley.
Green Valley 18, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Centennial, Keaton Smith went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Gators topped the Crusaders in five innings in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Evan Van Hoosier was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Michael Hillcoat was 3-for-4 with a double for Green Valley.
Faith Lutheran 7, Centennial 7 — At Centennial, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to earn a tie with the Crusaders in a game called after six innings in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
David Edson doubled, tripled and scored two runs for Faith Lutheran, which got three hits from Erich Uelmen and a triple from J.B. Eary.
Ian Ogurek doubled, Tanner Gehring tripled, and Bryan Bonnell was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Centennial.
Bonanza 14, Western 0 — At Bonanza, Braiden Gray kicked off his senior season with a no-hitter as the Bengals topped the Warriors in five innings in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.
Jack Orozco went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, and David Estrada went 3-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs.
Jake Zebe finished 2-for-3.
Arbor View 9-8, Basic 7-2 — At Basic, Tyler LeBaron was 2-for-3 with two homers and three RBIs in the opener as the Aggies swept the Wolves in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff Tournament.
P.J. Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the first game.
In the second game, Jordan Godman went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a stolen base to lead the Aggies. Vince Ceffalio went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Arbor View.
Spring Valley 2, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, the Grizzlies and Skyhawks played to a tie an a game called after eight innings due to darkness in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff Tournament.
Dylan Drachler was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base to lead Spring Valley.
Bryan Faucher hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth for Silverado, and teammate Vince Taormina was 2-for-3 with a run.
Chaparral 10, Tech 8 — At Chaparral, the Cowboys scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and held on to edge the Roadrunners in a five-inning game.
Bryan Moya earned the win in relief and added a double at the plate for Chaparral, which got a two-run home run from Beau De La Paz.
Alex Avila was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Freddie Briones tripled for the Cowboys.
Abel Martinez had two hits to lead Tech.
Rancho 7-2, Desert Hills (Utah) 3-1 — At St. George, Utah, Cody Suarez and Eric Allen combined on a two-hitter in the nightcap as the Rams swept a doubleheader from the Thunder at the Desert Hills Classic.
Gabe Villanueva scored the winning run in the sixth inning of the second game, scoring from third when teammate Bryce Harrell deliberately got trapped in a rundown between first and second.
In the opener, Josh Mill threw six strong innings, allowing three hits, and Allen went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs to pace Rancho.
Alex Jordan was 2-for-4 with a double, and Harrell went 2-for-3.
Cimarron-Memorial 15, Snow Canyon 11 — At St. George (Utah), Josh Nuernberg went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored to help lift the Spartans past the Warriors in the Snow Canyon Classic.
Nick Borowski and Jayson Hicks each added a solo home run for Cimarron, which got two doubles, two RBIs and three runs from Matt Painter.
Austin Ovard was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and teammate Michael Jensen also homered for Snow Canyon.
Granger (Utah) 7, Moapa Valley 6 — At Mesquite, the Cowboys scored the go-ahead run on an error to take a 7-6 lead in the top of the fifth inning and held on to beat the Pirates in six innings at the Desert Winds Classic.
Braden Geary notched two RBIs for Moapa Valley.
Williams (Ariz.) 3, The Meadows 1 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., the Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and edge the Mustangs in the Route 66 Tournament.
Ian Holbrook pitched a two-hitter for The Meadows.
Camp Verde (Ariz.) 21, Mountain View 3 — At Needles, Calif., the Cowboys led 19-3 after three innings and cruised past the Saints in the Route 66 Tournament.
Korey Wood drove in all three runs for Mountain View.
Mountain View 7, Joy Christian (Ariz.) 0 — At Needles, Calif., Trevor Van Kempen went 3-for-4 with a double and two stolen bases to lead the Saints by the Eagles in the Route 66 Tournament.
Van Kempen also threw four scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing one hit and striking out two.
