3A BOYS: Lowry holds on, nips Elko for title

RENO — Jesse Studebaker scored eight of his 10 points in the second half, including a pair of free throws with 12.2 seconds remaining, to seal Lowry's 52-48 win over Elko in the Class 3A state boys basketball championship game Saturday at UNR’s Lawlor Events Center.
Freshman Garrett Naveran led the Buckaroos with 12 points, and Tytus Millikan added 10 points for Lowry (22-6). Studebaker also grabbed seven rebounds for the Buckaroos.
Elko freshman Brandon Jenkins had 17 points, including a 3-pointer with 34 seconds left that cut the lead to 50-48.
Freshman Nathan Klekas added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Indians (24-7).
