ROUNDUP: Chaparral second, Durango third in Bermuda tourney

Chaparral’s boys basketball team placed second, and Durango was third in the inaugural Bermuda Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday.
The Cowboys fell to Francis Parker (Calif.), 48-35 in the championship game.
Durango was a 42-30 winner over Georgetown District (Ontario) in the third-place game.
K.C. Harrison and Cameron Stemley each scored eight points to lead Durango, which also got eight rebounds from Alex Vekic.
Chaparral advanced to the title game of the eight-team tournament by defeating Durango, 48-33 in the semifinals.
Devonte White and Zach Kirschbaum each scored 13 points, with Kirschbaum adding nine rebounds. Aubrey Ferguson chipped in 12 points for Chaparral.
The Trailblazers’ Tre Wells led all scorers with 15 points.
Aussie Travelers 53, Lake Mead 50 — At Lake Mead, L.J. Yamzon poured in seven 3-pointers and scored 31 points to help fuel a late Eagles rally before coming up short.
Lake Mead trailed 42-27 entering the fourth quarter and trimmed the deficit to two. The Eagles had an open 3-point attempt in the final 25 seconds, but Cris Cockrell’s shot rimmed out and fell away.
Cockrell added 12 points for the Eagles.
Ernst Kniger led the Travelers with 21 points.
