ROUNDUP: Durango boys secure playoff berth in win

Devonte Williams scored a game-high 20 points Wednesday to help Durango’s boys basketball team clinch a playoff spot with a 57-49 win at Sierra Vista.

Tre’Von Wells added 13 points, and Devin Matthews scored 10 for the Trailblazers, who wrapped up the Southwest League’s No. 3 seed.

Viko Noma’aea led the Mountain Lions with 18 points, and Gary Jacobs had 10.

Western 61, Desert Oasis 58 — At Western, Kentrell Washington’s 13 points sparked a 17-7 third-quarter run that lifted the Warriors past Desert Oasis.

Washington finished with 28 points and seven rebounds to help Western keep its playoff hopes alive.

Sir Washington added 13 points, and Kenyon Washington grabbed 12 rebounds for Western.

Cameron Mich’l scored 19 points and Cameron Jefferson had 16 points for the Diamondbacks.

Spring Valley 71, Clark 53 — At Spring Valley, Corey Clement scored 20 points, and the Grizzlies grabbed a 39-22 halftime lead en route to the win.

Justin Omogun added 10 points and 14 rebounds for Spring Valley, which moved closer to wrapping up the final playoff spot in the Southwest. Spring Valley needs a win over Pahrump or a loss by Western to Clark on Friday to qualify for the postseason.

Steven Dancy led the Chargers with 18 points.

Pahrump Valley 51, Bonanza 49 — At Pahrump, Alex Anderson’s steal and layup with three seconds left gave the Trojans a win over the Bengals.

Dajhan Celius led Pahrump with 12 points and Anderson added 11 for the Trojans, who had turned the ball over moments before Anderson’s key steal.

Freshman Ashton Howard scored 11 points to lead Bonanza. The Bengals’ Matt Figgins hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 49 with 52 seconds to play.

Tech 66, Boulder City 56 — At Tech, Michael Johnson scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Roadrunners defeated the Eagles.

Ben Seibert scored 23 points to lead Tech.

Preston Swasey scored 28 points and Nate Hafen added 11 for Boulder City.
