ROUNDUP: Longhorn boys use free throws to upset Bulldogs in OT

Legacy was 9-for-10 from the free-throw line in overtime Wednesday on the way to an 80-75 home win over second-ranked Centennial.

Cardon Harris scored six of his 14 points in overtime to lead the Longhorns, and teammate Zach Lane had five of his 21 points in the extra period.

Chris Cook added 20 points, Quincey Rhoads scored 11 and Donovon Gray 10 for Legacy.

Malcolm Allen led Centennial with 22 points, and twin brother Marcus scored 20. Evan Martin had 12 points, and Neiman Lee added 10 points for Centennial, incluidng a 3-pointer with two seconds to play in regulation to tie the game at 69.

Foothill 58, Basic 57 — Elijah Smith’s free throw late in overtime helped the Falcons escape with the win.

Smith hit the first free throw to break a 57-57 tie, but missed the second. The Wolves then missed a full-court shot to end the game.

Smith hit 13 free throws and finished with 19 points to lead the Falcons. Darren Buckles added 15 points for Foothill.

Devonte Boyd led Basic with 24 points, and teammate Jalen Rose scored 10.

Bonanza 49, Sierra Vista 45 — At Bonanza, Carter Olsen and Marques Barnes combined to make 4 of 4 free throws in the final minute and help the Bengals rally past the Mountain Lions.

Ashton Howard supplied 10 points and 25 rebounds for Bonanza, which outscored Sierra Vista 18-8 in the fourth quarter.

Barnes scored 17 points for Bonanza.

Isaac Thibodeaux paced Sierra Vista with 14 points. Sean Williams had 12 points for the Mountain Lions, and teammate Nino Flores scored 10.

Cimarron-Memorial 80, Shadow Ridge 76 — At Cimarron, Joe McKellar hit two free throws with 1.6 seconds left to play to seal the win for the Spartans.

Erik Brewer led Cimarron with 26 points, and Deijon Spillers added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Spartans.

Arin Henderson and Tyler Willinsky each scored 12 for Cimarron.

Nick Flowers scored 28 points for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Malcolm Davis had 19 points.

Clark 68, Western 53 — At Clark, Bryan McGriff had 19 points, and Diontae Jones scored 18 as the Chargers topped the Warriors.

Kentrell Washington had nine points for Clark, which led 36-23 at the half.

Western’s Samuel Jamerson had 18 points, and Nate Johnson scored 15 for the Warriors.

Green Valley 83, Del Sol 60 — At Del Sol, Durrell McDonald scored 28 points to lead the Gators past the Dragons.

Lorenzo Jarvis added 17 points, Devan Kohn scored 12 and Ikaika Pladera 10 for Green Valley, which outscored Del Sol 50-27 in the second half.

Chris Marshall had 14 points, and Lael Perkins scored 10 for the Dragons.

Bishop Gorman 80, Desert Oasis 37 — At Gorman, Shabazz Muhammad had 27 points, and the Gaels bolted to a 48-18 halftime lead and cruised past the Diamondbacks.

Rashad Muhammad added 14 points, and Rosco Allen scored 12 for Gorman, which got eight blocked shots from Demetris Morant and eight assists from Gio Guzman.

Anthony Lianzo paced Desert Oasis with 12 points.

Silverado 73, Liberty 40 — At Silverado, Ruben Jackson had 29 points, six rebounds and three steals as the Skyhawks rolled past the Patriots.

Justin Johnson added 10 points for Silverado, which raced to a 41-13 halftime lead.

La Quan Hawkins had 14 points, and Rhandy Tomlinson scored 10 for Liberty.

Palo Verde 93, Faith Lutheran 67 — At Palo Verde, Darryl Gaynor scored 23 points, and Eris Winder had 17 points and six assists as the Panthers rolled past the Crusaders.

Michael Buchanan added 17 points for Palo Verde, which scored 57 second-half points.

D’Khari Hicks had 19 points, and Sam Stevens scored 17 for Faith Lutheran.

Spring Valley 66, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Spring Valley, Shannon Nolan scored 14 points, and Rahfe’l King had 13 points and six assists as the Grizzlies routed the Trojans.

Shawn Feltenberger added nine points, and Ryan Vozzola supplied eight points and nine rebounds for Spring Valley, which held Pahrump to seven points in the second half.

Dalton Beighley had 11 points for Pahrump.

Coronado 78, Tech 50 — At Coronado, J.P. Cadena scored 10 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Cougars defeated the Roadrunners.

Charlie Teixiera and Teyshawn Campbell each had nine points for Coronado, which led 26-8 after one quarter.

Lamar Walker supplied 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots, and teammate Michael Louder had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Tyler Walker led Tech with 10 points.

Cheyenne 70, Mojave 46 — At Mojave, Khalid Banks scored 16 points, and the Desert Shields sprinted to a 22-8 first-quarter lead en route to the win.

Gary Stewart added 11 points, and Bryan Laws scored 10 for Cheyenne.

Omar Federico led Mojave with nine points.

Arbor View 63, Virgin Valley 59 — At Arbor View, Blake Claxton had 26 points, nine rebounds and four steals, and went 4-for-4 from the line in overtime as the Aggies held on to beat the Bulldogs.

Claxton hit two free throws with 12 seconds left in overtime to seal the win for Arbor View, which trailed 47-39 entering the fourth quarter.

Terrell Butler had 12 points, including a key 3-pointer in overtime, for the Aggies, who got 10 points from Navonte Hill.

Dee Bowler had 23 points to lead Virgin Valley, which got 12 points from Humberto Urias and 10 points from Tyson Teerlink.
