ROUNDUP: Marruffo’s 23 powers Saints girls past Thunderbirds
Briana Marruffo scored 23 points Wednesday night to lead Mountain View’s girls basketball team to a 51-29 road victory over Indian Springs.
The Saints held the Thunderbirds to three second-quarter pionts, taking a 24-9 lead at the half.
Alexxa Reinke led Indian Springs with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
BOYS
Indian Springs 43, Mountain View JV 36 — At Indian Springs, Brock Roadhouse had 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Thunderbirds to the win over Mountain View’s junior varsity.
Xavier Pena added 12 points, and Dominic Morgando had 11 points and nine rebounds for Indian Springs, which outscored the Saints 19-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Spring Mountain 52, Word of Life 30 — At Saville Middle School, Raul Portillo had 13 points as Spring Mountain beat Word of Life.
Amecha Okafor led Word of Life with 13 points.
