Gaels roll past Trailblazers, remain undefeated

Top-ranked Bishop Gorman (8-0, 2-0) dominated in all three phases of the game, remaining undefeated in an easy 77-0 road victory over Durango (1-5, 0-2) on Friday.

Gorman’s first drive went 80 yards on eight plays capped by an 8-yard touchdown run by Russell Booze, the first of his two rushing TDs. Tyjon Lyndsey returned a punt 79 yards for a score, and Haskell Garrett’s 27-yard interception return for a TD gave the Gaels an offensive, defensive and special teams touchdown by the end of the first quarter.

Booze opened the second quarter with a 1-yard TD plunge, and Alize Jones and Cordell Broadus each caught a touchdown pass from Tate Martell. Rex Marnell returned an interception 33 yards for a score, and Jonathan Shumaker’s 17-yard touchdown run gave the Gaels a 56-0 lead at the half.

Biaggio Walsh, Eric Boffelli and Troy Wilewski each rushed for second-half touchdowns to round out the scoring.
