September 19, 2015 - 12:57 am
Tyshun McClinton rushed for 168 yards and four touchdowns Friday as Desert Oasis rolled to a 42-7 home win over Eldorado.
Brannon Flowers rand for a score and completed 4 of 6 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown for Desert Oasis (3-1).
Flowers started the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run with 4:52 to play in the first quarter. McClinton's 4-yard run on the next drive put Desert Oasis up 13-0 with 52 seconds left in the first quarter.
Eldorado (0-3) pulled within 13-7 on Justin Martin's 18-yard TD pass to Shane Barnes with 9:40 left in the second quarter and recovered the ensuing onside kick. But the Sundevils got no closer.
McClinton's 20-yard run and 2-point conversion with 5:40 to play in the second quarter made it 21-7. He added scoring runs of 15 and 3 yards in the third quarter.
"I had some big holes today, I thought our line really handled their business up front," McClinton said.
Flowers tossed a 45-yard TD pass to Jaden Mitchell with 23 seconds left in the third quarter to cap the scoring for Desert Oasis, which eclipsed last season's win total of two.
"We laid an egg last week," said Desert Oasis coach Brad Talich, whose team lost to Basic 50-0 last week. "But I was really proud of how we came back tonight."
