Pioneers blanked by California team

Carson Sumter scored a pair of touchdowns Friday to lead the Clayton Valley (California) football team to a 28-0 win over Canyon Springs in Concord, California.

Sumter scored in the first quarter to give the Ugly Eagles (4-1) the lead.

He added another score with just less than two minutes to go in the second quarter to up the margin to 21-0.

Clayton Valley scored again late in the fourth quarter and held on for the shutout.

Canyon Springs is 1-3.
