TENNIS: Gorman tops Centennial, moves into Sunset boys final

Skylar Davidson went 3-0 in singles, and Joe Connors and Ian Dobberstein went 3-0 in doubles Wednesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys tennis team to a 15-3 win at Centennial in a Sunset Region semifinal.

Sam Sholeff and Aaron Bailey each went 2-0 in singles for the Gaels (8-2), who will meet Palo Verde (13-0) for the region title at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center.

Connor Paul and Benjamin Seigle were 2-1 in doubles for the Bulldogs (10-3).

Palo Verde 15, Arbor View 3 — At Palo Verde, Rhett Bossung, Danny Patho and Ethan Ballard each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Panthers by the Aggies (7-5).

The doubles teams of Conor Safbom and Brandon Sulzberg, and Kota Cook and Teijiro Nishimura both went 2-0 for Palo Verde.

SUNRISE REGION

Liberty 10, Foothill 8 — At Liberty, Tristan Hoyle and Dylan Ihmels each went 3-0 in singles to help the Patriots edge the Falcons in a Sunrise Region semifinal.

Liberty (12-1) will face Coronado (13-0) for the region title at 1 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center.

Teodor Drabicki and Tristin Hansel went 3-0 in doubles for the Falcons (7-6).

Coronado 14, Green Valley 4 — At Coronado, Kyle Harris and Martin Rizov went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Cougars by the Gators (8-5).

Ryland McDermott and Sam Grant each went 2-0 in singles for Coronado.

DIVISION I-A SOUTHERN REGION

The Meadows 13, Faith Lutheran 5 — At The Meadows, Kevin Chau was 3-0 in singles to help the Mustangs down the Crusaders in a Division I-A Southern Region semifinal.

The Meadows (12-2) will face Clark (13-0) for the region title at 10 a.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center. Regardless of the outcome, both teams will advance to the state tournament.

Jack Stevens and Hunter Kacsur were 3-0 in doubles for the Crusaders (10-5).

Clark 12, Spring Valley 6 — At Clark, Michael Pasimio went 3-0 in singles to help the Chargers down the Grizzlies.

Chaitanya Ingle and Marcus Pasimio went 3-0 in doubles for Clark.

Eric Clark and Christopher Zimmerman each went 2-1 in singles for Spring Valley (8-4).
