A central valley house fire caused $125,000 in damage early Thursday, officials say.
No one was home at 2:01 a.m., when the attic of 4013 Stormcrest Drive, near the intersection of Alta Drive and Valley View Boulevard, caught fire, a release from the Las Vegas fire department said.
A passing Las Vegas police officer saw smoke in the neighborhood and notified dispatchers. First responders arrived to find smoke coming from the one story house. Shortly thereafter, flames broke through the roof.
It took 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was ruled accidental.
The home appeared to be a vacation home used on a seasonal basis. No one was displaced, and no injuries were reported.
