A 63-year-old man is dead after a crash early Sunday morning in an east valley apartment complex, according to Las Vegas police.
Officers responded just before 6:30 a.m. to the crash in an apartment complex at 1950 N. Walnut Road, near East Lake Mead Boulevard, Metro wrote in a release Sunday afternoon.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 2004 Ford Explorer was going in reverse in the parking lot when the vehicle’s rear bumper struck a parking structure. There was minor damage to the SUV and the structure.
The 63-year-old driver was found unresponsive in the driver seat and was taken to North Vista Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police wrote in the release.
It is unclear if the man suffered a medical episode at the time of the wreck, the release said.
The man who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified.
The crash will not be counted as a traffic-related fatality until the cause and manner of the man’s death are determined by the coroner’s office, police said.
