Man shot, killed overnight in east valley

A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning in the east valley, and Las Vegas police don't have any witnesses.

Lt. Rick Given, a Metro supervisor, said the department received 911 calls about gunshots in the area of Marion Drive and East Lake Mead Boulevard about 1:16 a.m.

Police arrived and found a man with gunshot wounds. He died later at University Medical Center, Given said.

Homicide detectives said the man was walking in the area when he was shot and might have been the victim of a robbery, police said.

Police did not have a description of a suspect.

The man will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.
