One dead after car hits parked flatbed semitrailer in east Las Vegas

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say the driver in a Saturday night east Las Vegas crash that killed one person showed signs of impairment.

Just before midnight, 20-year-old Pedro Regalado-Cardenas crashed into the back of a parked flatbed style semitrailer that was loaded with rebar on Colton Avenue near Lamb Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

The other person in the car, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced deceased on the scene, and Regalado-Cardenas was transported to the university medical center with minor injuries.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center after his release from the hospital. The identity of the passenger who died will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s office when his next of kin have been notified.
