Police seek man in fatal shooting Monday night

The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting Monday night.

Lacy Howard, 44, is being sought in connection with the slaying at 4555 Karen Ave., in the Meadow Vista Apartments south of Lamb Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

Police received a call around 9:05 p.m. Monday reporting gunshots. Officers found a man lying on the ground outside of the building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he later died, police said.

Police said the man went to an apartment in the complex and argued with another man. The two men went outside of the apartment, and gunshots were later heard and reported, police said. The second man left before officers arrived on scene, Metro said in a statement Tuesday.

Metro police spokeswoman Officer Laura Meltzer said that there is nothing to suggest that this shooting and the shooting that occurred earlier Monday morning a block away on Macher Way near Mountain Vista Street are related.
