4.8 earthquake felt from So. Kansas to Oklahoma City

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit southern Kansas on Wednesday, with reports of it being felt as far south as Oklahoma City, about 125 miles away.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of the quake that struck at 3:40 p.m. U.S. Central Time was near Conway Springs, Kansas. It was very shallow, only 3.4 miles deep.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the stronger-than-normal quake for the area.
