Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz resigned after a grand jury recommended he be removed from office and indicted him on two misdemeanors, the Tulsa World newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Glanz was being investigated by the grand jury following the fatal shooting of an African-American suspect by former reserve deputy Robert Bates in April.
