Howard University lockdown lifted after report of a gunman

WASHINGTON - After a report of a gunman at Howard University in the U.S. capital, authorities said the scene had been cleared and the lockdown was lifted.
“Nothing found,” the Metropolitan Police Department said on Twitter.
Washington’s alert system said streets were closed off near Howard, a private university with more than 10,000 students.
This afternoon, we were anonymously notified of a potential shooter on campus. We took the call seriously and police are investigating.

Because the safety of our students and staff are our number one priority, the Admin Bldg has been evacuated.

Police are currently conducting a sweep of campus. All students & staff should stay in place & shelter in place until further notification
