Pregnant woman disappears in North Carolina on delivery date

Family members of a pregnant North Carolina woman who disappeared Tuesday are looking for answers.

Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther, 49, went missing from her Salisbury, N.C., home at about 5 a.m. ET on Tuesday, according to NBC News. She was scheduled for a C-section later that day.

Her daughter, Lauren Lusk, said her mother told her that morning to get gas before they left for a hospital about 40 minutes away. When Lusk returned 10 minutes later, Bradshaw-Crowther was missing, along with her car, cellphone and wallet. The lights were off, but the door was unlocked.

Her purse and makeup were still at the house, Lusk said.

“It’s not like her,” Lusk said. “She likes to keep up her appearance.”

Lusk told WRAL she had flown in from Kansas City that weekend to help with the new baby girl. She said her mom was nervous about the pregnancy, but became excited as her due date drew closer.

Salisbury police told WBTV that Bradshaw-Crowther was last seen at a convenience store in Statesville, N.C., on Wednesday afternoon.

Lusk said neither she nor the father of the baby had heard anything. She said the father had been heading to the hospital when Bradshaw-Crowther went missing.

“I want to tell her to come home, we love you and we miss you, and we need you,” Lusk told the station. “She’s a very likeable person, she’s friendly to everyone, she’s really hard not to like, very personable, easy to talk to, just, everybody loves her.”
