Protesters, supporters show up for Obama — PHOTOS
President Barack Obama, who visited Las Vegas today, was greeted by protesters and supporters of his immigration reform plan.
Dozens of protesters stood across the street from Del Sol High School on Friday, shouting slogans about immigration and other topics as hundreds of students lined up to get into the gym where Pres. Barack Obama would be speaking about his immigration reform plan.
During his speech, Obama outlined steps he has taken to help millions of people living in the country illegal. The measures are designed to make nearly 5 million of those immigrants eligible for protection from deportation and for work permits.
Obama has been to the Las Vegas high school twice before — in 2008 while running for president the first time and in January 2013 when he announced he would pursue comprehensive immigration reform.
