Search continues for man missing at Lake Havasu

Authorities continued their search Tuesday for the body of a California man who was missing and presumed drowned on the south end of Lake Havasu. The name of the 62-year-old man from Temple City was being withheld.

Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the man jumped into the lake to cool off from a boat that was situated north of the Parker Dam shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday. She said the man, who was not wearing a life jacket, was unable to get back to the boat occupied by his wife and a friend, because gusty wind conditions pushed the vessel away from him.

Efforts to toss the man a rope and get the boat back to him failed, Carter said.
