Las Vegas police arrested a 33-year-old man Wednesday in connection with a Tuesday morning homicide, police officials said.
Raul Gonzales was booked on one count of murder in connection to the death of 35-year-old Eric Paul Montoya.
Police responded to a home in the 1600 block of White Skies Court, near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue, about 6 a.m. Tuesday after receiving calls about a man who had been shot.
The investigation showed that Montoya heard a knock at the front door, but before he could answer it, six gunshots were fired through the door, two of which hit Montoya.
Arriving officers found the wounded Montoya. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died a few hours later, police said.
Identified by police as the suspect in the killing, Gonzales was arrested without incident about 4 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a hotel in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway, near Sandhill Road. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
Gonzales faces one charge each of murder and discharging a gun into an occupied building.
