So Southern Nevada faces an intractable water shortage, as stated by federal Judge Andrew Gordon, and plans are being made to suck a number of ancient aquifers dry so Las Vegas can have more water (“Court upholds plan to pipe groundwater to Las Vegas Valley,” Aug. 25 Review-Journal). The Southern Nevada Water Authority claims we won’t need this water until 2035.

I have a suggestion. Stop the rampant construction. Stop putting people on top of people here and those aquifers may not have to be tapped, at all. In addition, we would avoid all the environmental damage. Continue the current trend and Las Vegas will cease to exist.
