LETTER: Democrats now advocate for a new judicial standard

On Dec. 18, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., the No. 2 Democrat in the House, defended the House’s impeachment inquiry by remarking that President Donald Trump was afforded “every opportunity to prove his innocence.”

Will this new approach to justice compel all those accused of a crime to prove their innocence rather than the state having to prove their guilt?
